Background

Bethany graduated cum laude from Leiden University with an MA in International Relations in February 2016. Her thesis was a critical theory study of language and discourses in economic crisis, with a particular focus on Europe’s post-2010 sovereign debt crises. She also holds a First Class BA Honours degree in English Literature from Newcastle University. Before moving to the Netherlands in 2013, Bethany worked for a year as a trainee volunteer advisor at the Citizens Advice Bureau, a free public advice centre in the UK, where she dealt primarily with welfare, debt and employment issues. She also completed an internship at a human rights and development organisation in Liverpool as a special events organiser.

Areas of activity

Translation into English and language editing of texts written in English by ETUI researchers, other contributors to ETUI publications and ComPub department.
