Briefing: On 23 November 2011 the European Commission published the second Annual Growth Survey (AGS) - its cornerstone document for better economic policy and governance in the European Union. This document is an integral part of the policy planning cycle called the European Semester, which started in January 2011 with the publication of the first AGS, and is supposed to deliver more integrated policymaking in key economic, employment and social policy areas. At this last Monthly Forum for 2011 the ETUI would like to discuss the current state of economic governance on the European level as well as the economic outlook going into 2012 in the light of the second AGS and the recently agreed six-pack, and against the background of the still unresolved crisis.
