Panel 16: Is workers’ participation falling between the cracks of the emerging European company law regime?

Friday 26 September 09:00-10:40

Panel 16 Is workers’ participation falling between the cracks of the emerging European company law regime?

The emerging European company law regime, aimed to increase companies’ mobility and access to markets and workforces, is still full of gaps and loopholes. This panel will discuss labour’s ability to play its part in regulating all aspects of the employment relationship, in safeguarding employment, and in working towards quality jobs in an integrated Europe. Questions raised will be: what happens when the national regulatory contexts are eroded by Europeanisation? What new policies and approaches are needed to close the gaps in company law?
