The report ‘The Social State of Europe After the Crisis’ which will be presented and discussed at this Monthly Forum is a joint publication of the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) and its UK partner foundation Policy Network. It is the result of research on the question of the social reality of Europe in the aftermath of Europe’s serious economic and financial crisis of 2008.
The report paves way for further discussions on Europe’s recent austerity drive and especially for credibility of social democratic governments accepting light austerity measures. It also brings clear proof of an acute division in Europe (North vs. South) and that a deeper analysis of the so called Troika austerity programs is called for at the risk of rising populist parties and an increasing gap between the EU and its citizens.
A light lunch will be served from 12h00 in the room.
