On 23 September 2015, ETUI and OSE presented the 16th edition of the book Social Policy in the European Union: state of play 2015. The event, attended by about 200 participants, took place at the European Economic and Social Committee.
The Social Policy in the European Union: state of play 2015 sheds light on the main challenges the past year has left us in the area of social policy and identifies new opportunities for policymakers and social stakeholders alike. It raises key questions regarding the limits of the increasingly important yet highly contested role of the EU in pushing national reforms in policy areas at the core of the welfare state.
During the event, academics, policy-makers and stakeholders engaged in a discussion about social policies in the EU and tried to provide new ideas for the EU to move forward from the crisis.
