Strengthening the European social model

Description

In 2016, the EU Commission launched a consultation on the creation of a "Social Pillar", intended as a framework for screening employment and social performance in member states.

It focuses on: equal opportunities & access to an inclusive labour market, fair working conditions, and adequate & sustainable social protection. The ETUC has stressed the need for enhancing social dialogue, collective bargaining and worker participation.
