The book, written by ex-investment banker and Re-Define Managing Director Sony Kapoor, is targeted especially at non specialist stakeholders such as consumer groups and trade unions with a strong interest in holding the financial system to account and in ensuring that the reforms being enacted are sufficient and effective in getting the financial system to serve the real economy.
The concepts presented in the book are also useful to policy makers who are often so busy making policy that they can lose sight of the big picture. The book provides an easy reference in that it compiles, explains, analyses the major financial sector reform proposals made thus far.
As speakers we have the honour to welcome:
Sony Kapoor, Re-Define
Udo Bullmann, MEP, Coordinator ECON, SD Group, European Parliament
Sven Giegold, MEP, Coordinator ECON, The Greens/EFA, European Parliament
David Wright, Deputy Director DG Internal Markets, European Commission (tbc)

The current economic and financial crisis is having important consequences for citizens and workers across Europe. To address the many challenges from the regulation of the financial market to the new vision of a fair and sustainable society, ETUI has developed and published various analyses and organised a series of events having a short, medium and long term perspective. The aim is to foster debates on the causes, consequences and possible solutions to the crisis. This web page gathers the most relevant initiatives.
