Final Conference CAWIE project

COLLECTIVELY-AGREED WAGES IN EUROPE: Challenges in the statistical and political field

26 October 2012 - 29 November 2012, Central Economic Council of Belgium, Avenue de la Joyeuse Entrée, 17-21, 1040 Brussels; 10:30-16:00

European policy conference

This conference concludes the CAWIE-project which was set up to improve knowledge on the development of collectively agreed wages in Europe.

The first part of the conference will focus on a quality-assessment of the current data and indicators that exist on collective agreed wages in the Eurozone and makes propositions to improve and harmonise these data. The second part of the conference will use the available data and evidence to discuss the role and impact of collective bargaining on wage developments in Europe. The developing European macro-economic governance acts hereby as the framework of discussion.

The conference is organised by HIVA-KU Leuven and the TURI network in collaboration with the German Hans Böckler Foundation and a grant from the European Commission.
