Background

Bethany has an MA in International Relations from Leiden University, the Netherlands. Her studies focused on the critical analysis of language and discourses in economic crisis, with a particular focus on Europe’s post-2010 sovereign debt crises. She received her bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Newcastle University, the UK.

Bethany worked for a year as a trainee volunteer advisor at the Citizens Advice Bureau, a free public advice centre in the UK, where she dealt primarily with welfare, debt and employment issues. She also completed an internship at a human rights and development organisation in Liverpool as a special events organiser.

Areas of activity

English language editing and French-English translation of texts written by ETUI researchers, other contributors to ETUI publications and the ComPub department.

Arrangement of contracts for external editing and translating.

In December 2019, Bethany got promoted to the position of Deputy Editor of HesaMag.
