Panel 15 Trade unions and precarious workers: any progress?

Non-standard work has increased during the Great Recession, particularly of workers on involuntary part-time and fixed-term contracts. Workers on non-standard contracts are in all European countries less unionised than the rest of the workforce. Speakers in this panel – academics and practitioners – will address and discuss unions’ strategies for organising and representing non-standard and precarious workers and improving their pay rates and terms and conditions of employment.
