Panel 6 Human capital/training/ skills mismatch: empty words or a real solution?

This panel will discuss the need to better adapt the skills of the workforce to the needs of the labour market. In a situation of huge job losses and a clear sectoral pattern of job destruction, skills mismatch is undoubtedly a real challenge, but is it also an adequate solution to a lack of jobs? If so, what strategies will allow reducing it and reducing its negative socio-economic impact? Finally, are current training and education policies, particularly at the European level, still accurately tackling this challenge?
