Confirmation of reversal of the retirement age of 67

On 19 December 2016 the Polish President, Andrzej Duda, signed the law that returned the retirement age to 65 for men and 60 for women.

After the parliament voted in favour of the draft law reducing the retirement age once again to 65 for men and 60 for women, it was signed by the Polish President on 19 December 2016. It will enter into force on 1 October 2017. As previously highlighted in Reforms Watch, this text, adopted at the President’s request, reverses the previous reform of 2013, which increased the retirement age to 67 for both sexes.
