EU institutional developments

The European Union is an evolving institution. Between the creation of the European Coal and Steel Community in 1952 and the present day, the objectives of the Union, the operation of its institutions and the number of Member States have changed dramatically. As a result of the UK's decision to leave the European Union, a new debate has started on the future of the Union.

The ETUI keeps a close eye on the institutional developments, especially those ones which have an impact on Social Europe. It carries out systematic research on these new developments, organises debates and provides training courses related to the EU's future development.
