Machinery safety in Switzerland: ETUI looks at the role of AGRISS and SECO

After years of fruitful cooperation on machinery safety projects, ETUI recently met Thomas Backmann - Safety Engineer and Chief Technical Officer at AGRISS (AgriSafetySwitzerland) and Daniel Ruta - former Deputy Head of Section at the Federal Department of Economic Affairs FDEA, State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO - Product Safety, with the objective to discuss how market surveillance and standardisation can play a stronger role in improving machinery safety, with particular attention to agricultural machines.

Thomas Bachmann (AGRISS) and Daniel Ruta (SECO) explain to ETUI how the two Swiss bodies carry out their mission to the benefit of farmers, sellers and designers of agricultural machines.
