With digitisation and in the changing labour market, journalists’ unions and associations play an important role in upscaling the skills of journalists while ensuring decent working conditions through strong trade unionism. More than ever, leaders of journalists’ unions and associations need to update, organise and develop trade union strategies to serve their membership better and develop training.

This training will be integrated into a series designed by the EFJ to address the issue of trade union renewal, organising and democratic and strategic planning. The training will address how the EFJ can strengthen journalists’ unions and associations, TU actions and TU goals through identifying and developing strategies for trade union training/education linked to political priorities.

This training will focus on:

• Mapping existing practices/strategies of member unions and associations;
• Identify good practices;
• Developing European and related national training/education strategies;
• Networking and exchange among union leaders.
