Young trade union leaders: second week

Young leaders Parliament

The second week of the ETUI training course for young European trade union leaders took place in Brussels from 18th to 22nd February.

The 22 participants from across Europe had the opportunity to learn more about the coming ETUC Congress from Liina Carr, one of the ETUC Confederal Secretaries, but also about the internal ETUC decision making process and how this is reflected in its external relations. The training also focused on how European Trade Union Federations like IndustriAll and EPSU work and what are national trade union representations in Brussels doing such as the one run by the Austrian trade union federation (ÖGB Europabüro). Furthermore, the young trade unionists listened to presentions on key issues such as digitalization, organising, atypical work and minimum wage.

The training will continue in its third week in June in Zagreb when a draft with proposals for trade union action will be shared.
