How to ensure health and safety standards for migrant workers?

The workshop which took place on 18 and 19 September in Krakow (Poland) brought together health and safety union representatives, trade union officials, labour inspectors and employer organisation representatives to discuss measures and actions ensuring the respect of health and safety standards for migrant workers.

The workshop was organised in partnership with the European Federation of Building and Wood Workers (EFBWW) and aimed to identify the main common challenges for migrant workers in the construction sector, focusing especially on health and safety aspects at the workplaces.

After mapping the existing situation in the different participating countries, the participants had the opportunity to exchange their experiences and practices not only with respect to integrating migrant workers, but also with regard to facilitating their protection at the workplace. A political document will be produced by the EFBWW based on the action points identified by the participants during this workshop.
