Targeting mainly economists working on workers’ participation, social dialogue and its institutions, and collective bargaining, the following three areas are considered to be of strategic policy importance:

  • Macro-economics and Eurozone governance
  • Labour market and welfare politics
  • Financial markets

The course will be delivered in cooperation with one High school or University.

Objectives

  • To introduce participants to current theories and debates in European economic and social policies and how these relate to trade unions and the overall bargaining environment facing them.
  • To equip them with new knowledge and skills which will enhance their effectiveness in dealing with governments, bargaining partners and officials.
  • To enable them to form networks with each other and with academics carrying out research; 
  • To share experiences and perspectives.
