Priority 5: Trade union renewal

Description

Improving the protection of self-employed workers is high both in the agenda of the ETUC and the European governing bodies. In December 2016, the ETUC adopted the resolution “Towards new protection for self-employed workers in Europe”, aiming at exploring ways of organising and protecting this category of workers. In the framework of the project “New Trade Union Strategies for New Forms of Employment”, two relevant pieces of research will be produced on identifying best practices on organising and representing self-employed workers and in mapping the EU legislations on the topic.
