The latest migration debates focus more on how migrants impact the places where they move to, but not on how they can be integrated into society and/or the labour market.

The course looks at the role of trade unions in promoting and respecting decent living and working conditions for all in a more inclusive society. The main aim is to build capacities to deal with migrants and refugees.

  • to describe the current situation of migrants and refugees in Europe
  • to identify the EU approach on migration policies and how the TU could influence these policies
  • to recognise what role trade union can play in integrating migrants and refugees into the labour market and society (exchange of practices)
  • to design trade union strategies for joint actions and mutual support in advancing integration of the migrants and refugees
