Aix-Marseille University and the ETUI are glad to announce the forthcoming International Symposium "The Labour-Environment Nexus: Legal Perspectives and Beyond", to be held in Aix-en-Provence (France) next 6-7 October 2022.

The symposium aims at promoting an international discussion about the labour-environment nexus, in the fields of labour law, environmental law and other close disciplines such as industrial relations, sociology, philosophy, political science etc. The event will be divided into three thematic sessions including a keynote speech, discussion and the presentation of academic papers, as well as a dedicated poster session.

The topics of the three panels are:

1. Conceptual and theoretical implications of the labour-environment nexus
2. Regulation of labour and the environment
3. Global South and vulnerable groups’ perspectives of the labour-environment nexus

Keynote speakers include Simon Deakin (University of Cambridge), Tonia Novitz (University of Bristol) and Belén Olmos Giupponi (Kingston University).  The confirmed discussants are Supriya Routh (University of British Columbia), Marie Jacqué (University of Aix-Marseille), Béla Galgóczi (ETUI), Chiara Armeni (Université libre de Bruxelles), Sabaa Khan (David Suziki Foundation) and Mauro Pucheta (Kingston University).
