Aix-Marseille University and the ETUI are glad to announce the forthcoming International Symposium "The Labour-Environment Nexus: Legal Perspectives and Beyond", to be held in Aix-en-Provence (France) next 6-7 October 2022.

The symposium aims at promoting an international discussion about the labour-environment nexus, in the fields of labour law, environmental law and other close disciplines such as industrial relations, sociology, philosophy, political science etc. Keynote speakers include Simon Deakin (University of Cambridge), Tonia Novitz (University of Bristol) and Belén Olmos Giupponi (Kingston University).  Among the confirmed discussants are Béla Galgóczi (ETUI),  Sabaa Khan (David Suziki Foundation), Supriya Routh (University of Victoria), Margherita Pieraccini (University of Bristol) and Mauro Pucheta (Kingston University). 

The Call for Papers can now be downloaded here. Approximately nine papers will be selected, and authors invited to present and discuss their papers at the Symposium, which will be organised along the following thematic tracks:


1. Conceptual and theoretical implications of the labour-environment nexus
2. Regulation of labour and the environment
3. Global South and vulnerable groups perspectives of the labour-environment nexus


Abstracts of maximum 800 words should be submitted by 1 April 2022. The decision about the abstract selection will be communicated by 1 May 2022, and selected respondents will be invited to submit a draft version of their articles of around 7000 words by 1 August 2022.
