AI Talks @ ETUI is a series of inspiring (online) conversations which focus on the different dimensions of AI - ethical, social, environmental, legal, technological - and their impact on the world of work.

Top experts from academia, civil society and online rights organizations, among others, will share their insights and knowledge about artificial intelligence, building a 360° view of how AI is disrupting and reshaping the world we live in.

Guest speaker: Tanya O'Carroll, independent advisor, strategist and leader focused on tech accountability, human rights and social justice

Tanya O'Carroll was the former director and co-founder of Amnesty Tech, where she led work to challenge the surveillance-based business model of Big Tech as well as overseeing investigations into human rights abuses such as government spying and violence against women online. She coordinates a network of over 100+ organisations in the EU called ‘People vs Big Tech’ to campaign for stronger laws and enforcement of our data rights and privacy. Tanya is Senior Fellow at Foxglove focusing on campaigning and advocacy alongside her lawsuit against Facebook, which challenges the company’s surveillance advertising practices. She is also working as a consultant for a wide range of NGOs and philanthropic organisations and sits on the Board of Directors of the corporate campaigning organization SumofUs.
