Aims and scope of the journal

Transfer, the European Review of Labour and Research, is published for the ETUI by Sage Publications.

Transfer stimulates dialogue between the European trade union movement and the academic and research community. It contributes research findings on issues of strategic relevance for trade unions, in particular with regard to developments at the European level. Transfer publishes original peer-reviewed research on issues such as new developments in industrial relations, social policy and labour market developments.

Three issues per year of Transfer are thematic. The remaining issue is non-thematic. The Editor and Editorial Committee of Transfer invite submissions to the non-thematic (‘open’) issues of articles whose subject matter falls within the aims and scope of Transfer. Given the European perspective of Transfer, the journal particularly welcomes submissions which take a comparative approach or which situate their specific discussion in a wider European framework. In line with its aims, Transfer welcomes contributions not only from academics and researchers but also from practitioners. Transfer also welcomes proposals from external editors for thematic issues of the journal.

Trade unions and trade union related organizations are entitled to a discounted rate on the institutional (print & combined) price.
