Training date

01/02/2023 - 03/02/2023
(9:00 - 17:00 - CET, Brussels time)

Digital labour platforms belong to the emerging range of technology-facilitated labour market developments. This new form of work has generated a completely different approach to labour relations. From legal actions to recognise platform workers as employees to the first collective agreement signed for platform workers, we have seen the fight and commitment from trade unions to protect and represent this workforce segment. This training course will aim to further uncover the challenges these workers are facing and to create a platform for the exchange of trade union practices regarding the protection of these categories.

  • To map the development, role and impacts of digital labour platforms (DLP) and the link to trade union strategies.
  • To identify the different types of platform-based work, their characteristics, and their challenges from a worker perspective.
  • To address the normative regulation of platform-based work at national and supranational level.
  • To exchange experiences and lessons learnt from trade union approaches and strategies on platform-based work, including organising workers, policymaking, and collective bargaining.
