Abstract
The third edition of this online course on the 'European Pillar of Social Rights' will run for four weeks. It will involve about 8-10 hours of work that learners can follow at their own rhythm by accessing at any moment the online training platform. Online tutors will support participants throughout the course.
This online course aims to help participants understand and use the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR), including how it works with other EU and global initiatives.
It is aimed at trade union representatives and officials at any level who want to understand the EPSR and what could be the role of trade unions in its implementation locally, regionally, sectorally or nationally.
Aims:
Once participants have completed this course, they will be able to:
- understand each of the EPSR’s three main categories of rights and its 20 principles;
- appreciate the motivation for the creation of the EPSR, what the EPSR is intended to achieve, and how it is linked to the European Semester;
- understand the ETUC’s policy and involvement in the EPSR, and how unions could use the EPSR to make the European Semester more socially oriented;
- see the EPSR in the context of wider goals, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals.
Participants: A maximum of 50 participants can be accepted. The ETUI will select the participants based on the requirements for the target group and according to the principle of 'first come, first served'. The target group for this course are trade unionists from ETUC-affiliated organisations. English intermediate level is required.
Registrations: Individual expressions of interest can be made through national contact persons (see the list here). ETUI Education is available for clarification and support (Sylviane Mathy: smathy@etui.org). Participation in this course is free of charge.
