Background
Mariya Nikolova graduated in Political and Social Sciences from the University of Antwerp and obtained a post-graduate diploma in European Policy from the Institut d’Etudes Européennes (IEP) in Brussels. During her studies she undertook a one-year Erasmus exchange at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (IEP) in Strasbourg. She carried out, in addition, internships at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Brussels, the Mission of Bulgaria to the European Union and the “Access to social rights” unit of the Social Cohesion department at the Council of Europe. Prior to joining the ETUI, Mariya worked for almost two years as research assistant at the European Social Housing Observatory of CECODHAS in Brussels. At the ETUI she is in charge of various communication activities and is also responsible for the coordination of the Trade Union-related Research Institutes (TURI) network.
