The current period of soaring gas prices and uncertainty of energy supply pleads more than ever for the transition to much more renewable sources of energy less subject to geopolitical tensions and irregular prices.

Meanwhile, maintaining public support for an energy transition will only be achieved through targeted measures designed to reduce the vulnerabilities of low-income and middle-income households/workers 

In other words, ensuring that the challenges and opportunities of green transition are fairly distributed is a key for the success of just transition.

Objectives

  • Analysing the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition to low-income and middle-income households/workers 
  • Exchange proposals for measures designed to reduce the vulnerabilities of these households or workers willing to be actors of the energy transition.

Working languages: English, French and Spanish.

Participants’ Profile

  • TU officers and representatives who may be responsible for environment, energy, climate change and sustainability, digitalization and women
  • TU representatives at the company and sectoral level involved in health and safety and environmental policies.
