Abstract
Background:
The inclusion of environmental clauses in social dialogue (‘green’ social dialogue) could take a leading role in driving the just transition towards a low-carbon economy. It could also deconstruct the misleading opposition between labour and the environment. Despite their capacities to create quality and healthy jobs, environmental clauses in collective agreements are still exceptional in Europe.
This training will explore the role of collective bargaining and social dialogue in response to climate change and sustainable development.
Aims of the course:
- To analyse the role and contribution of collective bargaining and social dialogue in promoting environmental sustainability.
- To strengthen social dialogue practices in response to climate change and sustainable development.
- To share experiences coming from various countries regarding “green” social dialogue.

Participants
- TU officers responsible for social dialogue or collective bargaining.
- TU representatives at company and sectoral level involved in environmental policies and health and safety.
- TU officers and representatives responsible for/interested in the environment, climate change and sustainability.
Working languages:
Interpretation in English, Italian, and Bulgarian. Polish and Spanish if more than 5 participants each.
