The pandemic is pushing more people into extreme poverty, while creating more in-work poverty. More actions are expected from the Member States to tackle labour market segmentation and fight low wages, while also ensuring adequate social security. The trade unions are playing an important role in this process, and this webinar analyses the actual involvement/experience of the trade unions in their fight for fair income distribution and equal access to social services.

Aims of the webinar

  • to map the situation in the country’s participating;
  • to learn about EU policies and ETUC position on the topic;
  • to exchange trade union practices in dealing with in-work poverty;
  • to discuss which future role TU could play in reducing in-work poverty.

Working languages

Active working languages will be English, Hungarian, Lithuanian
A fourth language may be introduced according to the participants’ need.

Participants

Trade union officers in charge of economic, collective bargaining, social dialogue or inequalities issues; Trade Union leaders from national, sectoral or local level, interested in the topic.
