A "decentralized face-to-face" course
With this training course, the ETUI inaugurated a new training format called the “decentralized face-to-face training”.
Decentralized face-to-face training is:
A course co-designed in partnership (ETUI + national organizations) within-subjects proposed by the ETUI.
A course delivered face-to-face simultaneously by each national organization, at the same dates and times.
A course in which some parts (reports back of workgroups and presentations) are delivered online in a synchronous way with online interpretation access.
Which applies the ETUI Green Competence Framework Approach
The ETUI Green Competence Framework Approach has guided the design of this decentralized course. More precisely, during this course, participants will develop their systemic, collective, and prospective competences applied to the European Green deal.
They will figure out how a policy initiated at the European level will affect workers and their communities at the national and regional levels. More precisely, they will assess the social impacts of the European Green Deal on workers and their communities.
They will build consensus on what measures should be recommended by unions in the frame of a just transition plan in the coal sector.
Moreover, participants will be able to identify current and future partners, objectives, and actions, to include trade unions in a wide net of alliances.
They will be able to assess future challenges and opportunities that could arise in just transition in a specific sector.
- To introduce the participant to the European Green Deal
- To debate the social dimensions of the European Green Deal in the context of the Covid-19 crisis
- To develop ideas supporting workers in the governance of the European Green Deal
- To mobilize trade unions on the participation of workers in the European Green Deal
At the end of this training, participants will be able to
- To identify what is at stake with the European Green Deal (EGD) from a trade union point of view
- To evaluate challenges and opportunities created by the EGD with a focus on two sectors: energy and industry
- To engage in social dialogue required by the EGD
- To cooperate to manage a transition toward a sustainable economy
• TU officers and representatives in the environment, energy, climate change, and sustainability.
• TU representatives at the company and sectoral level dealing with environmental and greening policies
